Event information

The Melbourne Metropolitan Pennant (MMP) is the rebranded State Grade Pennant competion. 

Following the previous State Grade season we have made some changes and will be looking to implement further changes over the coming seasons.

  1. Matches will be played under the WSF “Rules of Squash
  2. MMP is a Wednesday Night Competition with Summer season matches comencing on 12th February.
  3. 8 team divisions playing over 14 weeks with 3 rounds of finals.
  4. Teams will comprise of 3 players with a max of 5 registered players. - Should additional reserves be required, permission must be sought from the Competition Coordinator.
  5. Match start times between 6:30pm - 7:30pm (depending on the venue requirements).
  6. P.A.R. 11 scoring for all grades.
  7. The winning team of each match will be the team with the most games won. If games are even, the winning team will be the team with the most rubbers won.
  8. Dunlop Double dot ball to be used for all matches (White single dot ball for all MSAC glass court matches).
  9. Teams in the top grade will play 1 home and 1 away game on the MSAC Glass court throughout the season.
  10. Players must play in their ranking order as determined by SquashLevels
  11. Teams are require to mark and referee thier matches, apart from MSAC matches where a referee will be appointed, if a referee cannot be source, team will be advised.
  12. Supper is optional for all teams.
  13. Match fee of $20 per player to be payed at venue for all matches (except MSAC - no charge).
  14. Players must have played a minimum of 7 of matches to be elligible for Finals.
  15. Players must have attended an R.A.P. lecture over the past 4 years to also be elligible to play in finals.
  16. Prize money(s) will be awarded to the winning club of the Grand Final.
  17. Protective eyewear that complies with Squash Australia policy is compulsory for all players that are 19 years old and younger in the competition and must be worn for the duration of all practice and matches.
  18. Photographs and video taken of players participating in this competition may be used by S&RV for future advertising or promotional purposes. If any player does not wish to be photographed, please advise the S&RV office as soon as practicable.
  19. The Competition Coordinator reserves the right to (a) Accept or refuse any entry; (b) Disqualify any player for misconduct; (c) Alter match times; (d) Vary conditions of play.
  20. Livestreaming may be in operation for MSAC matches, the broadcast will be via the Squash & Racquetball Victoria YouTube page.
  21. Team registration fee is $110 and will be invoiced to club for payment
